The Division of General Internal Medicine, Department of Medicine at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, seeks a part-time clinician-educator at the Instructor level (or higher) committed to a career as a clinician in an academic setting, practicing and teaching palliative medicine (this position may be in conjunction with additional FTE at the University of Colorado School of Medicine to become a full-time position).
Clinical Duties include attending on the Palliative Care service at the University of Colorado Hospital and/or working at the Palliative Care outpatient clinic.  Teaching activities include leading formal/informal teaching sessions and working closely with students, residents, fellows and other trainees that rotate through the palliative care service at University of Colorado Hospital and/or the Palliative Care outpatient clinic.  Administrative responsibilities include active participation in palliative care quality improvement initiatives.  Scholarly activities are encouraged and required for positions above Instructor.  Faculty will participate in decisions regarding the practice operation of the University of Colorado Hospital Palliative Care service.



QualificationsMinimum qualifications: MD or DO degree.
Preferred qualifications: Current State of Colorado License and current DEA, which should be in place by the applicant's start date.  Candidates must be board certified in her/his respective primary board and board certified or board-eligible in hospice and palliative medicine.  It is expected that the successful candidate will become board certified in hospice and palliative medicine by 2020.
