Job Title Adjunct Instructor Sociology
Job Description
The University of North Texas at Dallas invites applications for the position of Adjunct Instructor Sociology.

The number of vacancies is dependent on student enrollment, division needs, and dean approval. Your application cannot be considered until all required documents have been received.

Adjunct instructors plan classes and implement and evaluate teaching/leaming objectives and student learning outcomes. An adjunct instructor undertakes the divisional and professional responsibilities of a part-time faculty member, including office hours. The successful applicant will be expected to provide instruction in a full range of undergraduate lower and upper-level Sociology courses within UNT Dallas's Sociology major and minor (e.g., Sociological Theory, Race & Ethnic Relations, Research Methods, Sociology of Religion, etc.), including the core-curriculum Introduction to Sociology course.

Adjunct faculty members will be required to use texts and meet certain content parameters set by the Department of Sociology & Psychology. Adjunct instructors also will be required to include in their courses certain student assessment measures determined by the department, and to compile data on those assessment criteria. Minimum Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess the following required qualifications:

• Master's degree in Sociology with at least 18 graduate hours in Sociology, and outstanding experience in teaching core-curriculum Introduction to Sociology.

Preferred Qualifications
The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications:

• PhD in Sociology with significant experience in higher education.
• Successful experience teaching adults in a post-secondary institution.
• Excellent communication skills in multicultural settings.

Physical requirements necessary to perform essential job functions
Work requires some muscular exertion and/or physical strain such as standing for long periods of time, recurring bending, or recurring lifting of items weighing up to 15 pounds.
