Job Description:
Description of Department: The Office of Publications, a division of SUNY Oswego's Office of Communications and Marketing, assists faculty and staff with college-related design and printed materials, from planning and set up through in-house printing or off-campus vendor. The Office of Communications and Marketing coordinates many of the college's internal and external communications.
The Office of Communications and Marketing invites applications to fill a full-time Graphic Designer/Publications Associate position within our Publications Department.

Description of Responsibilities:
The Graphic Designer/Publications Associate will be responsible for both print and electronic media within the specialized department of our on-campus design/print shop. Will also be responsible for the design, layout, editing and pre-press production of print materials including, but not limited to, brochures, business cards, forms and posters for offset and digital printing. The Graphic Designer/Publications Associate will collaborate with our digital services and marketing teams to design digital, social media and web-based projects. This team member will work with faculty, staff, and students on project correspondence, specifications, proofing, record keeping, and customer service. Duties also may include light production assistance.
In addition, the Graphic Designer will be expected to display a commitment to undergraduate and/or graduate education, and possess communication and interpersonal skills sufficient to work effectively with an increasingly diverse array of students and colleagues.
Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design or related field at time of application
- Proficient with InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat on a Mac OSX workstation
- Proficient with basic hardware and software troubleshooting
- Must be able to take direction from written or spoken ideas and convert them seamlessly into layouts and other designs
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi task
- Sound attention to detail and problem-solving capability
- Ability to use feedback as an opportunity for improvement
- 2-years of experience with design for offset printing
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1+ years' experience working with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Working knowledge of digital accessibility principles and Section 508 standards
