Position Description: Calumet College’s Education Department has been a mainstay of the College since its founding in 1951. We are committed to offering attractive undergraduate and graduate teacher preparation programs that meet the needs of the region we serve for highly qualified teachers.

To lead the department, Calumet College is seeking applicants for a full-time, 12-month tenure track faculty position. This position requires the skills and experience to direct the undergraduate and graduate Education programs and to serve as the Education Department Chair, with responsibility for program development, enrollment, and retention. It also includes responsibility for department accreditation, along with oversight of two charter schools and students’ clinical placements and licensure. The ideal candidate, therefore, must be an experienced administrator with an entrepreneurial spirit and a forward-thinking approach to technology, pedagogy, and program design, delivery, and management.

Qualifications: For full consideration, applicants require the following:
• An earned Ed.D. or Ph.D.
• Administrative experience
• An understanding of working in a higher education setting
• Experience in K – 12 education
• Experience in using digital learning management systems (such as Blackboard) and distance learning and online classroom platforms (such as Zoom)
• Experience in working with teams within and across disciplines
• Strong written and oral communication skills

In addition, experience in addressing the needs of first-generation college students is highly desirable.

Salary Range: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
