Assistant Professor of Family and Community Medicine
The Department of Family Medicine is looking for Board-certified faculty to join a newly established residency program at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley School of Medicine. The successful candidate will work with the Chair and Residency Director to develop and lead clinical practice and the implementation of educational activities for residents and medical students. The participation and support of a research program focused on issues impacting the patient population of South Texas and the Rio Grande Valley is also available. Opportunity for OB coverage is also possible. Academic rank will be awarded commensurate with experience and credentials.Minimum Qualifications

performed primarily in a general office environment. This position is security sensitive
and thereby subject to the provisions of the Texas Education Code
§51.215. The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of
Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least
135 days in length. This position has the option to elect the Optional Retirement
Program (ORP) instead of TRS, subject to the position being 40 hours per week
and at least 135 days in length.
