Teaching and learning are the central functions of Bergen Community College, and as such, its faculty plays a central role in supporting and fulfilling the College mission. The faculty has the primary responsibility for developing and carrying out effective instruction, counseling and library services. Since its founding in 1965, the College has been proud of its mix of tradition and innovation in the process of challenging students to raise questions, examine evidence, validate opinions, make decisions and communicate ideas effectively.

Successful candidates must be able to teach both day and evening classes, be committed to assessing student success and learning outcomes, assessing and developing new programs/curricula, demonstrating competence in instructional technology, especially on-line instruction and willing to accept assignments at any of our three locations (Paramus, Hackensack and Lyndhurst). All positions require excellent organizational and communication skills as well as demonstrated scholarship and professional involvement. Candidates invited for an interview will be required to do a teaching demonstration and present a teaching portfolio.

We have a full-time Tenure Track Radiation Therapy faculty position / Program Director available in our JRCERT accredited Radiation Therapy Certificate program. Position includes didactic, lab, simulation and clinical teaching, student advising and mentoring, program administration, JRCERT accreditation and participation in scholarly activity including involvement in departmental, college and community service. Position begins in September 2019 on our Paramus campus.

The general responsibilities for faculty members in this area are developing curriculum and course syllabi, classroom, lab, simulation and clinical course instruction, developing evaluation methods, providing student performance feedback, counseling students for academic success, working as a member of the radiation therapy faculty team and maintaining professional development in radiation therapy.

Teaching responsibilities will include classroom/didactic instruction, participation in clinical laboratory simulations, demonstration and evaluation of students providing direct patient care in a variety of subacute and treatment settings.

This position includes program administration in compliance with the JRCERT. The program director responsibilities include, recruiting adjunct faculties, teaching assignments, program administration, JRCERT reporting, admissions, collaborating with the program clinical coordinator to develop and ensure student clinical experiences.


Master’s degree in related area from an accredited program, certification and registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologies (ARRT)(T) required, and a current NJ DEP license required; Must have a minimum of five (5) years of current clinical experience. Knowledge of simulation preferred. Minimum of three (3) years teaching experience required; experience teaching in higher education or at a community college preferred; Must demonstrate experience utilizing technology and web enhanced courses, on-line course management systems, online course management systems to enhance student learning objectives and program assessment outcomes. Experience with Varian Linear Accelerator preferred. Candidate must have knowledge of JRCERT Radiation Therapy Accreditation Standards and JRCERT Radiation Therapy Program Director experience. Day and evening availability is required.
