Description

The Department of Leadership, Research, andFoundations in the College of Education at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs invites applications for an assistant professortenure-track faculty position in the Student Affairs in Higher Education (SAHE)program. The position begins in August 2020. The workload for this position isteaching five courses per academic year (2/3teaching load in SAHE undergraduate and graduate courses, as well as the PhDprogram in Educational Leadership, Research, and Policy; summer teachingopportunities may also be available); maintaining an advising load of undergraduateand graduate students; supervising practicum students; engaging in research andthe pursuit of grants and other sponsored program activities; and providingservice to support the department, college, and university.

The successfulcandidate will possess, and be able to demonstrate, a variety of pedagogical approaches that enhance studentlearning, including the use of technology inside and outside of the classroom. Areas ofspecialization are open, but preference will be given to applicants withexpertise in (1) equity, diversity, and inclusiveness in higher education, (2) highereducational organizational behavior and leadership, and (3) higher educationbudgeting.  Preference will also be givenfor experience, expertise, or interest in rural education.

     For the purposes of FLSA, this position has been determined to be exempt from (not eligible for) overtime under FLSA.                                                                                                                          

     Salary: $65,000

QualificationsMinimum Qualifications
  • Earned doctorate in student affairs, higher education administration, or a closely related field from an accredited higher education institution. ABD will be considered if degree is conferred by August 17, 2020.
  • Minimum of three years of professional, full-time experience in higher education administration
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in equity, diversity, and inclusiveness in higher education; higher educational organizational behavior and leadership; or higher education budgeting
  • Experience in rural education
