Supervises multiple residence halls and GAs. Includes overall management of a student residential community. Will facilitate a vibrant student experience grounded in current student development practices. Must have knowledge of the functions and purpose of co-curricular student development within an academic community.

Provides live-in residence hall management. Will maintain hours within the Office of Residence Life as well as residence hall offices. Will also supervise, develop and advise RA paraprofessional staff; complete job performance evaluations with RA paraprofessional staff at least once per academic year or as requested by the Director of Residence Life; works with RA paraprofessional staff to develop and deliver engaging educational programs for the residential community; establish and working out of an office in the residence hall while remaining engaged with Student Services staff; serves as a residence life liaison with other campus agencies / departments; coordinates activities and maintains constant communication with the Offices of Student Services; participates in weekly campus-wide on-call coverage rotation (requires being available Monday - Friday 5 PM - 8:30 AM and 24 hours a day on Saturdays / Sundays and days when the Office of Residence Life is not open) to respond to student emergencies; assess situations or notify first responders in emergency situations. This on-call coverage also applies to University breaks when students are still present in the residence halls. Will enforce University policies and regulations in assigned residence halls which includes filing incident reports as needed and serves as a student conduct officer, acting in an appropriate manner. Also maintains an awareness of the assigned residence hall’s physical condition, safety, security and furnishings and provides direction to assigned housekeeping to resolve issues. Will submit work orders for facility concerns and follows-up on status. Oversees check-in and check-out procedures, damage charges; key distribution and collection.

Models and promotes community building efforts within the residence halls. Will oversee Resident Assistant programming efforts and will attend programs within the residence halls; attends activities planned through Student Services offices.

Responsible for supervising Resident Assistant’s (RA’s). Will train and develop RA paraprofessional staff in assigned residence halls; provides direct supervision for building RA’s and oversees residence hall desk attendant operations; assists the Director of Residence Life with interviewing and hiring RA staff.

Supports Residence Life. Assists the Coordinator of Campus Life with events as needed; during summer months assists with supervising non-university personnel in residence halls and facilitating contracted camps/events; will be present on campus during move-in weekends as well as the end of each semester when students are leaving or checking out of their residence hall rooms; and assists the Coordinator of Campus Life with the transition of International students; promotes an intercultural experience and helps bridge cultural differences between international and domestic students.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree

Prior experience as a Resident Assistant (RA) in residence halls.
