Looking for a change! This exciting opportunity to become part of the Bay State College community as an Associate Director of Career Services position here is available.

This person will lead all functions of Bay State College career services. The primary focus of this position is to ensure quality career services for all students and alumni. Through leadership and vision, the Associate Director of Career Services will manage all staff by providing training and development, manage the career services budget and interact with students and employers through the strategic development of student and employer relations. The position will require meeting thresholds of data collection and meeting employment benchmarks of graduates while maintaining employment records. Knowledge of all regulatory and compliance standards, as well as Bay State College policies and procedures, must be maintained.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Through leadership and vision, ensure that quality career services are provided at Bay State College to all students and alumni
  • Meet employment and salary benchmarks of employed graduates six months after graduation
  • Observe all regulatory and compliance standards
  • Manage all aspects of the Career Services budget
  • Train and develop staff through supervision, observation, and accountability
  • Create and maintain employment and professional relationships; conducting employer visits regularly, maintaining records in CampusVue
  • Utilize CampusVue to maintain placement data and report regularly on effectiveness, completing weekly, monthly, and annual reports
  • Establish and maintain relations with alumni by building a community that focuses on professional development
  • Implement marketing strategies to promote career services to all constituents (graduates, alumni, employers, etc.) using various mediums including job boards (internal and external), Social Media, and other technology
  • Work with the Director of Human Resources to oversee the Work Study program
  • Work with program chairs to facilitate relationships with current students (reviewing skill level, attitude and professionalism) and uncover potential employers; ensuring we meet all program specific placement regulations (E.G. ABHES, CAPTE, NECHE, and NESA); and take part in all Advisory Board meetings, coordinating meetings, preparing agendas, assuming a leadership role
  • Oversee distribution and collection and aggregation of all employer, senior, graduate, and alumni surveys; collecting data and reporting results to appropriate personnel
  • Plan and coordinate career fairs as appropriate at campus (minimum of two annually); also plan volunteer fair (1x/annually)
  • The candidate should display a hands-on approach to leading the career services team and will be expected to carry a caseload
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by Associate Dean of Academic Affairs

Knowledge:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree
  • At least 4 years working in higher education – Career Services preferred
  • Proven record for achieving goals
  • Professional qualifications indicating competence

Physical Requirements: Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 to 15 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Stooping. Bending body downward and forward.

Working Conditions: Normal office conditions.

Job Type: Full-time, Exempt
