  Wells College seeks a customer focused, data and values driven professional for the position of Executive Director of Enrollment Management-Undergraduate. Reporting to the President, this high-level problem solver and results oriented individual will be primarily responsible for the coordination and management of Admissions and Financial Aid. The Executive Director will develop, execute and assess a comprehensive recruitment and communication plan. The position will also oversee and manage the recruitment team, which involves coordinating all applicant follow-up and yield initiatives as well as tracking the progress and performance of counselors in attaining contact objectives.

Essential duties include, but are not limited to: Manage a team of first-year student admissions counselors by coordinating outreach activities, prospect follow-up and yield initiatives; Provide guidance and training in territory management, set performance goals and evaluate effectiveness of team efforts; Monitor and evaluate the design and execution of first-year communication plans. Develop, monitor and evaluate recruitment activities for international and transfer students. As part of the communication plan, develop strategic messaging for individual applicants to personalize the post-admissions process and set goals to determine message effectiveness. Create and implement strategies to influence the enrollment goals for new student enrollment, demographic characteristics, and other objectives defined by the College. Supervise the development, management, and operations for the College’s scholarships which are awarded through the financial aid budget; Collaboratively develop and implement strategies for transitioning first-year students into academic and student life ultimately leading to better retention; Prepare and provide detailed recruitment and assessment reports for distribution to management and the campus community; Represent Wells College at various college fairs, college nights, mini-days, personal connection interviews, host receptions and on-campus events; Lead activities related to establishing quality relationships with territory high schools via personal visits and frequent communication; Plan and execute travel including marketing collateral needs as well as budget and logistics; Research new markets and assess effectiveness of recruitment activities; Establish and maintain a dynamic, cooperative relationship with Wells College faculty, staff, administrators and current students.

The successful candidate will possess excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, be a staff champion and team builder, work independently, handle confidential information in a professional manner, detail oriented, perform multiple tasks simultaneously and meet goals and deadlines. Contribute to a collegial, goal-oriented, and positive work environment. Must be able to travel frequently and required to have access to an automobile with a valid driver's license. Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s degree preferred.) Minimum five years’ experience within a college admissions setting required. Wells College is seeking a current Director, but will consider an Associate Director with proven track record of required experience and capabilities.

Minimum three years’ experience managing or mentoring staff in a professional setting required. DIII athletic recruitment experience at a small private college expected. Preference will be given to candidates who possess one or more of the following: Excellent technical/computer skills - including Microsoft Word, Excel, database systems and CRM systems (Slate). Ability to mine and analyze data to inform decision making. Experience monitoring and reporting staff productivity and fulfillment of key productivity indicators. Experience recruiting and supporting international student populations. Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds.
