Job Description
Title:  Softball Assistant Coach
 
Position Summary:
The opportunity to help new softball program at Duke University contend for ACC Championship as a full time hitting and defense coach while effectively serving the Department of Athletics and assist the Head Softball Coach by performing roles and responsibilities that will help effectively manage the day-to-day operations of a Division I softball program in accordance with NCAA, ACC Conference and Duke University policies and procedures.
 
Candidate must have a minimum 2-4 years of college coaching experience and possess the necessary knowledge and experience to teach and educate student-athletes on proper fundamentals, techniques and game strategies in softball. Primary responsibilities include but not limited to: recruiting, video and film review, practice planning and execution, camps/clinics, scouting reports, and oversee team equipment/apparel.

Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution Candidates must have strong interpersonal skills, the ability to develop knowledge of, respect for, and skills to engage young women.Effective written and verbal communication Knowledge of NCAA rulesIntegrating innovative technology and possess strong computer skills with a general knowledge of recruiting and video software, and willingness to learn additional programs as needed. The scope of this position requires weekend, evening and possible holiday hoursThrive in fast paced environment, possess a keen attention to details, and ability to multi-taskLifelong learner, open minded to new ideas and continually seek for new ways to improve your craft.
