Executive Director Building and Grounds
Responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing all daily activities of the building maintenance, custodial, housekeeping, janitorial, lawn care, beautification and grounds maintenance personnel. Manage various custodial/grounds projects.Essential Duties Summary
Responsible for overseeing policy direction, planning, and administrative coordination of all building maintenance, custodial services or grounds maintenance and landscaping. Writes specifications for new fixtures, furniture and equipment; selects suppliers. Identifies renovation and construction needs and recommends methods and materials; obtains and reviews bid proposals and negotiates specifications with vendors and contractors. Provides financial oversight for budget formulation and implementation. Responsible for ensuring building maintenance, custodial services or grounds maintenance and landscaping are in compliance with state and university policies. Schedules, monitors, and follows up on all building maintenance, custodial services and grounds maintenance projects working with the department’s three shifts during their working hours assigned. Follows up on all work requests to determine status and ensure timely completion of all work requests and special projects. Supervises assigned personnel, including selection, training, scheduling and evaluation. Conducts inspections to ensure continuous quality operation of the assigned facilities. Provides oversight through subordinate managers for property inventory and key control. Establishes and maintains priority system for emergency responses based on customers’ needs. Responsible for staying abreast of latest state of the art methods, products and systems in building maintenance, custodial services or grounds maintenance and landscaping operations.
