The duties of the copy mailroom clerk cover tasks in the processing, handling and distribution of mail and copies as is handled by the copy/mailroom of a specific campus.Outcomes:
•Weighs packages or letters, computes charges using weight scale and rate chart and mails packages
•Determines most cost effective manner for processing outgoing mail. Ensure that all outgoing mail is appropriately handled and mailed out promptly. Keep appropriate records of mail production.
•Sorts, and routes incoming mail and distribute such to the correct recipients.
•Sealing, stamping, and affixing postage to outgoing mail or packages
•Keeping necessary records of mail processed such that charges to user departments can be processed:
•Make copies of office documents and file or distribute them following instructions from various user groups.
•Operate office machinery such as copiers and be able to provide general maintenance and service to such.
•Prepare forms and ensure printing of digital media
•Maintain and order office supplies
•Receive incoming calls and provide appropriate information regarding copy and/or mailroom requests
•Maintain cleanliness of record rooms
•Restock office supplies and handle minor repairs
•Manage office equipment maintenance duties
•Ensure that all copiers and printers are stocked with paper at all times
•Assist with record keeping activities and move furniture and equipment, as may be needed
•Operate jam clears on printers and copiers
•Replace paper and cartridges and toners
•Handle clients in the absence of front desk personnel, as may be needed
•ability to lift 50 lbs.
•High School Diploma or GED
•ability to stand for long periods of time
•good communication skills
