Manager, Graduate Communications

Job description

DescriptionThe Office of the Associate Provost for Graduate Programs at Georgia State University is looking to recruit a Manager, Graduate Communications who, in conjunction with the Director of Marketing for Undergraduate and Graduate Admissions, will be the main point of contact with the individual colleges at the university regarding their respective marketing plans and Graduate recruiting efforts. This role will also help maintain the forthcoming Graduate School website and assist with the marketing of professional development activities for current graduate students. This role will work collaboratively with University Public Relations and Marketing Communications, the individual college communication managers and the recruiting teams to ensure that messaging is consistent across all platforms.


Examples of duties include:

  • In collaboration with the Graduate Programs Project Coordinator, update and maintain the Graduate website

  • Create compelling communications to increase awareness of workshops and other events for current graduate students

  • Coordinate central marketing Graduate recruitment efforts with each college’s specific recruitment plans

  • Manage the centralized Graduate admissions email campaign content calendars for prospective students, applicants and admitted students

  • Write compelling content for email communications to prospective Graduate students, applicants and admitted students

  • Manage and report on data analytics from digital recruitment efforts through Slate and digital campaign vendors (e.g., Carnegie, EAB)

  • Act as the data steward of the CRM system (Slate) – Coordinate permission-based access of internal marketing and communication tools, and assist with de-duping of prospect data records

  • Coordinate and track digital advertising results within the CRM system (Slate)

  • Create and use data filters and queries to communicate with specific key populations (e.g., prospects, applicant and admitted students) through email campaigns

  • Setup and test emails prior to deployment on the platform to ensure messages are sent in proper form and template, proofread emails for clarity, grammar and spelling

  • Analyze and report on the effectiveness of all email and text campaigns, highlighting successes, trends and opportunities. Maintain formal process to update and share findings internally and with key external stakeholders

  • Assist with management of relationships with outside vendors (e.g. EAB)

  • Collaborate on communication efforts for campus events for Graduate Admissions and external offices (e.g., campus visits, Accepted Student Events, etc.)

  • Train admissions and marketing staff on CRM email, event, and query functions and coordinate their user access.

  • Work with data and technology team to institute effective work flows to communicate with target audiences (email, eAcceptance and publication exports/mailings)

  • Consult with academic departments and offices on the marketing of new or under-enrolled programs

  • Other duties as assigned



QualificationsBachelor's degree and four years of related experience; or a combination of education and related experience.
