As a member of the Enterprise Systems team, the senior application developer is responsible for supporting Banner, Workday, integrations and web form development working with various stakeholders to troubleshoot system issues as well as to develop enhancements and new features. The Enterprise Systems team acts as a strategic partner for developing solutions to automate and simplify processes for our business partners. The position comes at an exciting time: the incumbent will have an opportunity to make significant contributions to our continued growth in a newly implemented Workday HCM and Financials environments, to influence the future direction of our web technology projects, as well as to join Banner 9 new application deployment projects to improve our Banner student information system.

Primary Duties, Responsibilites, and TasksRequired Knowledge, Skills, and Education (including hardware, software, and equipment)

Bachelor degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or a similar degree, or combined work experience and education as equivalent

Proficiency with Java/J2EE, Groovy, Grails, JQuery, javascript libraries such as Backbone, Underscore, etc

Experience in working with Spring, Hibernate, Eclipse SDK etc. framework

Strong knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming, Web Services, SOAP, XML, XSLT, REST, JSON, API service-oriented architecture design principles

Strong problem diagnosis and creative problem solving skills. Positive, collaborative and solution oriented

Strong organizational skills to juggle multiple tasks within the constraints of timelines and budgets with business acumen

Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced environment, learn rapidly and master diverse web technologies and techniques.

Relational database skills, including data modeling, Oracle, plsql and SQL server technology

Apache server, Tomcat, Linux and PowerShell scripting

Solid understanding of software development process, change management, and deployment

Project management skills, including developing project plan, creating business-case and conducting effective project meetings

Ability to communicate technical implications to business teams effectively

Attention to detail and quality while maintaining efficiency in output

Strong people management and communication skills including effective planning, organizing and prioritizing tasks, strategic thinking, excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills

Preferred/Desirable Knowledge, Skills, and Education (including hardware, software, and equipment)

Experience in Banner student module, Banner 9 technology and framework

Required Prior Work Experience

Five years of work experience with sound knowledge of software development and documentation procedures, programming methods, program flow charts.

Competent to work independently on complex programming activities.

Individual Work Activities

?Work across various platforms that integrate with Workday using Web Service API, RaaS reports, and Snaplogic Pipeline. Learn and apply other optimal tools like Workday Studio and BIRT
?Understand and implement data governance, Workday security model, and identify impacts on integration and reporting. Provide recommendations to achieve clean configuration and streamlined processes
?Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders to perform regression testing on integrations for semi-annual Workday releases as well as other major Banner updates and enhancements to Banner system
?Integrate data from various systems and databases through service-oriented technology or API development as appropriate
?Maintain several critical integrations that overarch Banner and Workday including period activity pay, student bridge and onboarding
?Perform Banner Student Information system support function through optimizing business processes and extending Banner functionalities to maximize administrative efficiency and students learning outcome
?Participate Banner 9 application deployment, Ethos platform and github projects
?Collaborate with business to develop integration, enhancement projects and conduct working sessions with users to gather, understand, and analyze business requirements
?Strategize web form through agile development and demonstrate design by prototyping and stakeholder collaboration
?Provide strategic consulting support and guidance through key IT initiatives, and to capture and translate business objectives into technical processes
?Perform data analysis to assure accurate reporting and data integrity, including standardized and ad-hoc dashboard and reporting
?Develop clear technical design documentation and process flows that identify cross functional business impact
?Effectively work with PMO. Lead and manage projects when needed
?Collaborate with technical and security team to meet internal and external security audits and requirements
?Understand the organization’s goals and objectives to effectively contribute to the college businesses and services
?Stay current in emerging technologies/industry trends and apply them in work
?Other duties as assigned
