Job Description Summary

Summer Research Assistant Project: Imaging system for ground marking identification and mapping

Sponsor: Spec-Rite

The research assistant will develop and test a mobile imaging system that can be used for ground marking identification and mapping. The imaging system will include both hardware and software. The hardware
will involve 2D and/or 3D camera systems and associated optics and optomechanics. The software will involve image processing and image fusion software and associated data handling and storage. The research
assistant will be expected to design, develop, and operate the imaging
system under the supervision of the principal investigators. The research assistant will be expected to travel to the sponsor’s facility in Watertown multiple times for field tests and/or presentations.

Minimum Qualifications

This job may involve driving personal or University vehicles; the research assistant should have a valid driver’s license and be eligible for certification as a driver of University vehicles.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree/in process of pursuing Bachelor’s degree.

    machine shop.
  • This job may involve the use of high-brightness LEDs and/or lasers; the research assistant should be willing to be trained
    by Clarkson’s laser safety officer.
