Position SummaryDirect the strategic and tactical service delivery of facilities management for the NYU IT organization. Serve as IT liason and project coordinator for all construction, renovation, and relocation projects; plan, evaluate, schedule, and manage all related needs to ensure the effective and optimal use and stewardship of NYU IT resources (people, budget, plant, and technology infrastructure). Plans, controls and directs real estate activities such as site location and acquisition, right-of-way negotiation, building and land acquisition and disposition, space leasing, property management, and maintenance of properties. Ensures the optimal utilization of the organization's facilities. Assesses and evaluates the physical space requirements of the organization and recommends plans to meet needs. Ensures proper functioning of facilities through ongoing inspection and maintenance. Serve as local project manager for construction, renovation and relocation projects, as needed. Develop and supervise the inventory management of assets including furniture and furnishings throughout portfolio. Evaluate, establish and manage space utilization changes.QualificationsRequired Education:Bachelor's DegreePreferred Education:Bachelor's Degree in Management, Project Management, Finance or Business Administration preferred.Required Experience:5+ years of work experience in an administrative or financial services setting. Prior experience working and managing in the business administration and finance industries preferred. Strong written and oral communication skills. Able to stay organized in a fast-paced 24/7 environment. Work with various technologies, which include but not limited to smart phones, tablets and computers. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).Preferred Experience:Preferred customer-service experience. Negotiate and work with external contractors/vendors and other University leaders for major construction projects and renovations, as well as for supplies, facilities and maintenance work.Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Skills: Excellent analytical skills. Strong communication and leadership capability. Ability: to work independently within a fast-paced, dynamic, deadline oriented environment, interpersonal skills at all levels. Work in a consensus driven collaborative manner, initiate and follow through on assignments, inspecting or performing quality control for projects. Position will be required to conduct regular site visits across multiple NYU IT facilities in NYC. Ability to work an expanded schedule to assist with facilities emergencies, relocations and facilities projects as needed.Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Preferred customer-service experience.
