Student Services Officer - 6 month fixed-term position
Stanford University's Department of Psychology has an exciting opportunity for a talented, friendly, energetic and motivated Student Services Officer (SSO). This is a 6 month fixed-term position that will fill in for our existing SSO who will be taking a 4 month maternity leave, providing approximately 2 months for initial overlap training and a debrief period upon her return.
Stanford Psychology attracts top students, faculty, and research staff from all over the world. Candidates with experience administering graduate and/or undergraduate programs will be well-suited for this Student Services Officer (SSO) position, although we will train the right person who has the core skills, abilities and relevant experience.
Reporting to the Director of Finance and Operations, the SSO will be responsible for functions associated with graduate students, our graduate program, and postdoctoral scholar support. The SSO will track graduate student degree progress, regularly meet and communicate with faculty, staff, graduate students and postdocs to answer questions or solve problems as they arise, lead the graduate admissions process during autumn quarter as well as assist in planning our Prospectives Weekend in winter quarter, lead and implement the postdoctoral appointment and extension process, enter graduate and postdoc aid into the Graduate Financial System, attend various department committee meetings, assist with the annual doctoral student orientation, assist with Teaching Assistant assignment changes, provide ad hoc data and reports, and other duties as needed.
