Position Summary:

Incumbent performs a wide range of culturally competent services through the Comprehensive Perinatal Services Program (CPSP) to Medi-Cal pregnant women, from conception through 60 days postpartum. Responsible for program development and clinical and administrative services; works to increase community acceptance, referrals, utilization of health care resources and Medical Center reimbursements.

Salary Range:

Rate Minimum $17.86 Midpoint $23.59 Maximum $29.31

Required Qualifications:

Ability to communicate effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds

Ability to independently exercise initiative and follow up to resolve problems.

Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload

Ability to work effectively with others in collaboration using team approach

Ability to work well in a constantly changing environment

Bilingual skills in English and Spanish

Computer knowledge including ability to work with Microsoft Office, database and patient management systems

Current BLS certification

Excellent customer service skills

Excellent organizational skills with the ability to effectively prioritize tasks

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

Experience working with Medi-Cal, Healthy Families and public health insurance programs

Experience working with one or more of the following populations: low income, underserved families, children, uninsured adults or the homeless community.

Knowledge of medical terminology

Medical Assistant Diploma

Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job

Must possess completion of CPSP training

Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties

Previous experience using TDS

Understanding of medical terminology

Preferred Qualifications:

Excellent public speaking skills

Flexibility to work variable shifts, including occasional weekends or holidays
