Position Summary:

Florida Atlantic University’s is seeking a Clinical Assistant, Jupiter, FL. This position will be based out of the FAU CARD Indian River Offices.

The FAU Center for Autism and Related Disabilities or CARD, is one of seven autism support centers in Florida funded by the Florida Department of Education.  The center provides supports to families, schools, and the community for the purpose of helping person with autism optimize their potential.  With offices in Boca Raton, Jupiter and Port St Lucie, FAU CARD now serves over 5,000 families and persons with autism.  We offer general as well as technical training on autism with special attention to the nature of the disability, and issues of safety, inclusion, preventing problem behaviors, and instruction.  CARD services are provided at no charge.

Summary of responsibilities:

  • Direct clinical assistance to parents, family members and individuals affected by autism and related disabilities, including intakes and follow-up visits.
  • Provide technical assistance and consultation to professionals (teachers, therapists, etc.) working with people with autism.
  • Provide trainings and workshops for parents and professionals. 
  • Screen young children for ASD and follow-up with appropriate agencies to ensure services provided, as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor degree or higher from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and three years experience in the field of autism required.

Experience in the field of Exceptional Student Education, Applied Behavioral Analysis, Psychology or closely related field required.

Excellent written and communication skills required.

Salary:

$32.22 per hour

CARD is open Monday - Friday 8 a.m. -5 p.m. The schedule will be flexible but consist of 1 day per week.
