The Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine at Florida Atlantic University is seeking three outstanding faculty members at the rank of Assistant Professor to serve as Attending Psychiatrists at the College’s new ACGME-approved Psychiatry Residency Program. These Assistant Professors will be involved in major effort in teaching, leadership, research, innovation and clinical service (50 percent) in psychiatry.
The instructional role is flexible and will include a combination of direct teaching, leadership in research and scholarship, development of instructional materials, student and resident supervision and advising, curriculum design, assessment of resident performance, and other roles as determined by the developing needs of the College of Medicine and the Psychiatry Residency Program. Although the focus of these positions are graduate medical education, faculty will also participate in medical student teaching and mentoring.

Our graduate medical education programs play an important role in the achievement of these goals.
These positions will provide the opportunity for collaboration on research and scholarly projects with FAU and affiliated institutes, including the FAU Brain Institute, the FAU Institute for Healthy Aging and Lifespan Studies, and the Marcus Neuroscience Institute at Boca Raton Regional Hospital. These positions will also provide clinical practice opportunities in collaboration with the major teaching facilities for the psychiatric residency.Minimum Qualifications:M.D. or D.O. from an accredited institution and credentials that merit appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor or higher, and American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABMS) board certification required.
Applicants must have significant teaching experience with residents and demonstrated teaching excellence.
The ability to effectively communicate with a variety of students, residents, fellows, faculty and employees from widely diverse backgrounds is required.
