Stanford's Financial Management Services:

Financial Management Services (FMS) is the financial backbone of our organization. It includes 5 primary organizations: Controller's Office, Treasurer's Office, Global Operations, Purchasing & Payment Services and Financial Management Consulting and Support. We are offering internship programs to students and recent graduates looking for practical work experience.


  • - The Summer Internship Program: students work for 10 - 12 weeks during the summer months (June - September).
    - The Co-Op Project: students work at Stanford University, FMS for four or more months during the school year; co-op projects can also happen during the summer.


    Intern's responsibilities:

  • Perform testing of new financial systems, upgrades and patching of existing systems; plan, conduct and document results of testing.

  • Analyze data and provide data sets to users for analysis. May include development of operational and analytical reports for end users.

  • Involve in all aspects of a project life-cycle, defining processes, deliverables, timelines, risks and mitigation solutions.

  • Compile/ review project documentations/ deliverables as and when needed using various project management tools.

  • Create presentations for project meetings.

  • Develop and design training curriculum for different projects.

  • Other duties as assigned.


    Qualifications needed:

  • Exceptional and effective written and oral communication skills.

  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills to influence diverse audiences.

  • Desire to learn, resilience, a problem-solving and result- driven mindset.

  • Ability to effectively work across cross functional teams.

  • Candidates must have work authorization at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.
