Assist writers from all disciplines with grammar, writing, speech, and various self-paced materials in the Writing Center. Other tasks might include answering the Grammar Hotline, responding to OWL submissions, rectifying software issues, fill in at reception desk.

College Reading & Learning Association (CRLA) Certification - This job requires professional development, including mandatory attendance at weekly training sessions Fridays from 2p-4p or other scheduled meetings, written reflections, research, presentation. Tutors will earn CRLA certification for their training and experience.

Required Skills
  • Will need to use standard office equipment
  • Experience with use of personal computers
  • Demonstration of basic grammar and writing skills
Required Experience
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • One year of college level course work including the completion of Composition 1 with B or better (JCCC preferred) and completion of Composition II with a B or better (JCCC preferred)
