It offers Bachelor of Music degrees in Performance, Composition, Jazz Studies, and Recording & Production; the Bachelor of Arts in Music; Master of Music degrees in Performance, Composition, Composition-Jazz Emphasis, Conducting, and Pedagogy; Master of Arts degrees in Music Theory and Musicology; a variety of certificate programs and an Artist Diploma. Position Summary

The Lamont School of Music at the University of Denver invites applications for a Visiting Teaching Assistant Professor of Composition to begin in Fall 2019 for the 2019-2020 academic year. This is a full-time, nine-month appointment. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate lessons in composition and composition-related courses, coach a contemporary music ensemble, and/or teach other courses related to the candidates interests and expertise. Other duties include coordinating the Composition program as well as serving on degree boards and School of Music committees.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Must demonstrate a commitment to working with diverse populations.

Required Qualifications

  • PhD or DMA in Music
    • ABD at time of application would be considered

Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD or DMA in Music
  • Teaching experience at the college level
  • Expertise or interest in electro-acoustic music

Salary Range:
Salary will be determined by the qualifications of the selected candidate balanced with departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information.
