Digital Media Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:

TheResidential Digital Media Manager is responsible for the development and execution of all residential digital communication, primarily social media, digital media paid search & e-mail campaigns. The purpose of the position is to leverage these communication tools to facilitate storytelling and conversation so that:

-prospective students and their parents are drawn progressively deeper into the recruitment funnel,

-current students, their families, faculty and staff are engaged, informed, and inspired,

-and all who interact with university digital media are enthusiastic about sharing their IWU experience with others.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:

Executive Director of Marketing and Communication

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

BA/BS in communication, marketing, journalism or other related field.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Drive the IWU residential campus social media and email campaign strategies. Seek input from the marketing team and other stakeholders to create a project plan based on the strategy, then implement the plan advising the Executive Director of Marketing and Communication of benchmark progress.
  • Manage the creative and administrative process, including calendar and content planning, design and delivery for the successful execution of Admissions and other residential campus related email campaigns.
  • Devise metrics and track relevant stats in order to keep plan on target, or to inform plan revisions. Produce summary reports to measure engagement and effectiveness of the overall plan.
  • Collaborates with team and executes paid search campaigns for the residential campus.
  • Develop a team of student workers to be involved in executing the plan and also to gauge student engagement, particularly with all university social media outlets. Delegate and monitor their activity.
  • Create a logbook of usernames, passwords, etc. and keep current with user access information.
  • Create and maintain a messaging calendar in order to proactively integrate marketing and communication objectives of the university.
  • Ensure all content is edited, relevant and delivered according to social media best practices. All content should enhance the student/prospective student experience and further the relationship between the student and the university.
  • Train university personnel/divisions on social media & email marketing best practices and assist in launching sites as appropriate.
  • Seek out under developed segments to further expand university voice (ie sports, chapel, etc.)
  • Create and/or curate design, photography/videography and editorial to deliver high impact social media bursts and email campaigns, and to further sharing among users.
  • Partner with web content manager for purposes of task duplication & backup for social media and the indwes.edu website.
  • Keep up to date on current trends so that IWU continues to lead the way among CCCU schools in the creative, effective use of social media and email campaigns, and to become a recognized leader among all universities.
  • Recommend and execute a plan for maximizing social media for SEO purposes.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience:

Preferred previous experience in managing social media accounts for a business or organization and public relations.

Required Skills:

Writing; photography; project management.
