Position Summary

James Madison College, a residential college of public affairs at Michigan State University, invites applications for an instructor to teach two sections of MC201 for the Fall of 2019. We desire an instructor who either holds a Ph.D. or is an advanced Ph.D. student. The successful candidate could come from any discipline in the social sciences. Experience in teaching first year students is required. Preference given to those who have taught writing intensive first year seminars.

With an enrollment limited to 1200 students, James Madison College is noted for its excellence in undergraduate education, rigorous academic standards, and attention to the analytical, writing and speaking skills of its students. Faculty offer a variety of first year seminars that incorporate readings from the social sciences to explore topics of broad relevance to public affairs.
