The Office of the Vice Provost for Teaching and Learning (VPTL) delivers programs and services to faculty and students on campus as well as non-residential education opportunities to distance learners. The Content Operations Specialist is part of the of the Learning Technologies and Spaces and works closely with other teams within VPTL to support the daily operations of the facilitation and the integration of video technology into teaching, and learning. The Content Operations Specialist manages large volumes of digital video, edits, distribution and assists in the administration of the video content management system.

Facilitate the integration of technology into teaching, learning, and/or research activities.

  • Video content operations.
  • Encode, schedule, perform post-production and distribute video lecture content via various publishing tools and distribution platforms for the Vice Provost of Teaching and Learning.
  • Maintain daily media operations and live streaming schedules.
  • Manage receipt of digital video release forms.
  • Edit lecture videos, troubleshoot and correct visual and audio issues in post-production.
  • Ensure that all assets are posted daily and assignments are accomplished to meet client / school needs.
  • Collaboration with team members for hardware/firmware configuration and maintenance.
  • Organize assets for deliveries upon request.
  • Monitor lecture live streams and troubleshoot if issues arise.
  • Technical support for YouTube/Facebook live streaming events.
  • Keep accurate records; manage media storage maintaining orderliness and consistency across network.

    Education & Experience:

    Bachelor's degree plus two years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.
    Desired Qualifications:
    • 2+ years of editing on Premiere / Adobe Creative Cloud (Junior to Senior video editor)
    • 1 + years of working within a VCMS
    • Managing large volumes of video asset content and quality control.
    • Scheduling encodes on multiple capture systems.
    • Publishing videos to different platforms.
    • Basic understanding of how video servers work.
    • Flexibility to adapt well to changing schedules, priorities and staff, faculty or student requests.
    • Technical experience using digital media equipment.
    • Ability to work independently as well as effectively in a collaborative team environment.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills, mature judgment, and diplomacy required to interact effectively with and provide customer service to a broad audience.
    • Excellent time management, communication skills, verbal and written.
    • Authentication procedures including registering new user and guest accounts, and enabling access to secure online course content.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Current knowledge of the latest software and design standards.
  • Ability to define and solve logical problems for technical applications.
  • Knowledge of and ability to select, adapt and effectively use a variety of programming methods.
  • Ability to plan, design, develop, and evaluate engaging multimedia learning/training objects.
  • Knowledge of instructional design methodologies, pedagogical issues, and best practices for classroom, online and hybrid learning.
  • Strong knowledge of learning management systems and various classroom and online learning technologies.
  • Ability to recognize and recommend necessary changes in user and/or operations procedures.
  • Basic knowledge of software engineering principles.
