JOB SUMMARY
This position provides administrative and management support for the operations of the President’s Office.
MAJOR DUTIES
•Provides management and administrative support to the President; manages the President’s schedule.
•Drafts agendas, correspondence, reports and presentations in support of the work of the President; assists the President to prepare for meetings; attends meetings with the President as needed.
•Coordinates special events for the President.
•Schedules meetings and appointments; answers telephones and greets visitors; maintains files and records; makes copies; maintains office supply inventory.
•Performs public relations duties via contact with students, parents, representatives of the University System of Georgia, elected and appointed officials, and the general public.
•Serves as a liaison between the President and varied external and internal constituents.
•Manages budgets for the Office of the President, including the college budget; tracks expenses, processes invoices, requests checks, reconciles purchasing card accounts, and reconciles accounts.
•Maintains and tracks all memoranda of understanding for the college.
•Performs related duties as assigned.
COMPLEXITY/SCOPE OF WORK
•The work consists of varied management and administrative duties. The need to perform multiple tasks simultaneously contributes to the complexity of the position.
•The purpose of this position is to provide administrative and management support for the operations of the President’s Office. Successful performance helps ensure the efficiency of those operations.
Starting salary: 37,112.64
Minimum Qualifications:KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED BY THE POSITION
•Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures.
•Knowledge of college and departmental policies and procedures.
•Knowledge of college academic units and their functions.
•Knowledge of University System of Georgia policies and procedures.
•Knowledge of budget processes.
•Knowledge of computers and job-related software programs.
•Skill in prioritizing and organizing work.
•Skill in attending to details.
•Skill in identifying and solving problems.
•Skill in oral and written communication.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
•Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of an associate’s degree.
•Experience sufficient to thoroughly understand the diverse objectives and functions of the subunits in the division/department in order to direct and coordinate work within the division/department, usually interpreted to require five years of related experience.
