Duties and Responsibilities

The Loyola University Chicago Parkinson School of Health Sciences and Public Health is seeking a dynamic, motivated and outcomes-oriented director to lead our Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program. We are seeking applicants for a full-time, tenure track professor at the associate or full professor level to start in July 2019. We are seeking CAPTE accreditation. This position requires direct or indirect supervision of faculty and staff members across the DPT program. The Director reports to the Chair of the Applied Health Sciences Department in the Parkinson School of Health Sciences and Public Health.

The expectations and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

oTeach in one or more content areas
oManage CAPTE accreditation process and annual reporting
oOngoing development, oversight and enhancement of the DPT program
oAdvising of DPT students
oDevelop Faculty
oParticipate in and guide alumni relations activities
oParticipate in fund-raising
oParticipate in departmental/school strategic planning
oSupervise program assessment
oOversee DPT admissions process and recruitment events
oManage budget
oRecruit, hire, and assess Faculty and staff
oOversee faculty promotion dossier development
oOversee and monitor student activities

Qualifications

Required:

oPT degree with Illinois licensure or eligibility for IL licensure
oAPTA membership
oPhD with active research agenda for at least five years with history of successful grantsmanship
oPromoted, or eligible for promotion, through the academic ranks to associate or full professor
oMinimum of three years of clinical experience as a PT
oMinimum of three years of college teaching experience
oA commitment to the mission and vision of Loyola University Chicago
oDemonstrated commitment to establishing relationships, communication and teaching that fosters diversity, justice, inclusion and equality but not limited to gender, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation and religion

Preferred

oAcademic administrative experience
oFamiliarity with CAPTE accreditation requirements
oExperience with vulnerable populations

Physical Demands Lifting, Standing, Repetitive Motions Working Conditions Lighting Minimum Education and/or Work Experience

Required:
