$1,846 – $2,726 per month

High school graduate or G.E.D. equivalent. Two years relevant clerical experience is required. Financial Aid experience helpful. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.

Nature & Purpose of Position

To perform clerical duties of a varied and complex nature which require some experience and the occasional use of independent judgment.

Primary Responsibilities

To perform clerical and accounting tasks of a varied and complex nature such as, but not limited to: receptionist for the office providing routine information to the public and other SHSU departments; maintain moderately complex files; type routine reports and correspondence; and enter data into computer as needed. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Other Specifications

Requires answering telephones. During peak work loads, telephone periods may be extensive. Requires ability to periodically work at the front counter, encountering students, parents, etc. Requires ability to retain and relay financial information to students and parents. May require the ability to type and use 10‑key calculator by touch. Experience with Financial Aid Software helpful. Computer skills required.
