The Accounting & Financial Management (ACFM) Department at Bucknell University's Freeman College of Management seeks to hire two full-time, tenure-track faculty members in the areas of financial accounting, auditing and/or tax to begin in fall 2020. We will consider outstanding candidates at all ranks, with rank being commensurate with experience. Candidates should possess a PhD or a DBA in Accounting, or have ABD status with the requirement that they complete their doctoral degree before their second year at Bucknell.

Financial accounting candidates should be willing and able to teach both introductory and upper-level courses in financial accounting. Auditing candidates should be willing and able to teach auditing and assurance and introductory financial accounting. Tax candidates should be willing and able to teach individual and corporate tax as well as financial accounting. Candidates' abilities to teach other courses such as accounting information systems and non-profit accounting will be viewed favorably. Successful candidates must demonstrate, through education, certification or professional experience, proficiency in US GAAP. Candidates with the CPA and/or CIA credential and professional auditing experience in the US will have an advantage among those applying to teach auditing. Professional experience and certification (e.g., CPA) are also considered very positive complements to the academic qualifications for those applying to teach financial accounting and tax. Demonstrated competence for high quality scholarship (commensurate with the applicable rank) and excellence in undergraduate teaching to a diverse student body are required. The teaching load for this position is five course sections per academic year. Salary is AACSB competitive.

The approximately 550 students in the Freeman College of Management may choose among six majors offered by highly interdisciplinary departments that combine courses in the various disciplines of management with offerings in the arts, humanities, natural and social sciences, and engineering. The College currently offers majors in accounting, business analytics, finance, global management, managing for sustainability, and markets, innovation and design. The Community

Located in central Pennsylvania, Lewisburg features a variety of restaurants, beautiful Victorian homes, the restored art deco Campus Theatre (owned by the University), charming shops and boutiques, and the Barnes and Noble at Bucknell University Bookstore. About 33,000 residents live in the region.

The city of Williamsport is about a 30-minute drive from campus, and Penn State University's main campus is about an hour away, as is Harrisburg, Pennsylvania's state capital. Bucknell is about three hours from New York City, Philadelphia, Baltimore and Washington, D.C.
