Job Summary

This position ensures accurate billing and timely collection of student tuition and fees by analyzing student accounts for accuracy and delinquency. Must be able to communicate with parents and students in person, over the phone, and in writing to respond to inquiries and explain college financial obligations. Accurate and timely data entry of payments and charges is required. Must understand and apply Skidmore College regulations and procedures, FERPA regulations, and Federal and State financial aid regulations. Requires the ability to work independently as well as with other Financial Services staff and other departments on campus.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate degree or equivalent in related field preferred with 2 years’ experience in customer service/accounting. Experience in student accounts preferred. Ability to communicate effectively and to provide courteous and prompt customer service. Ability to interpret and discuss financial policies and procedures. Strong analytical ability and problem solving skills. Personal computer literacy with strong keying skills and ability to use new computer software. Ability to work in a multi-task environment. Banner and Touchnet experience preferred.
