DESCRIPTION

Under general supervision, the Accounts Payable Financial Analyst II serves as a key member of the Accounts Payable team, working in an environment that is fast-paced and high-impact with shifting priorities.

Key Responsibilities include:Support development of department plans and procedures requiring analytical and accounting skills along with business management knowledge. Perform a wide variety of audit and analytical tasks, including the support of analysis, dashboard maintenance, and performance management. Maintenance of all electronic transactions including onboarding new vendors. Makes recommendations for developing best practices for the department. Assist with training of all new AP staff. Serves as general backup to department.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's Degree in business, healthcare administration or related area; and/or equivalent experience/training.

  • A minimum of two (2+) or more years of relevant experience.

  • Experience and basic knowledge of finance policies, practices, and systems. Ability to interpret accounting and financial theories and to apply them in problem solving.

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of finance policies, practices, and systems, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Governmental Accounting Standards (GAS).

  • Intermediate knowledge and understanding of internal control practices and their impact on protecting University resources.

  • Ability to gather reasonably retrievable information to organize, and perform moderately complex analysis assignments. Must have ability to identify issues; analyze data, and convert data to actionable information and recommendations.

  • Strong analytic ability and judgment from a business perspective in financial, operational, technical, and other fields, to develop cost-effective recommendations on financial, operational, process, and internal-control issues.

  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook for financial analysis. Ability to use spreadsheet and database software for moderately complex financial analysis, and financial reports. Attention to detail

  • Solid interpersonal skills, excellent service orientation and critical thinking skill. Ability to function as a member of a team. Acts as a positive and contributing team player with strong professional commitment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience using Premier (formerly known as Aperek).
