Full-time faculty positions will be posted on a per-opening basis. Postings are organized by college/school and department. Applicants will be evaluated at the college/school level for the position which they are submitting an application. Unless noted by a close date, positions will remain open until they are filled. Part-time Faculty Opportunities
DePaul University invites expressions of interest for a pool of qualified Part Time Faculty to teach courses in a variety of disciplines across all 10 colleges and schools. Individuals may enter expressions of interest by submitting their credentials to any posting for which they are qualified to teach. Postings are organized by college/school and department. Screening of individuals in the pool is ongoing, depending on curricular need and funding. Individuals will be contacted by the department if they reach the finalist stage for teaching a particular course or set of courses. The pool will remain in place until the closing date specified in the posting details; those interested in remaining in the pool beyond that time must resubmit. All individuals in the pool will be notified by email when the posting is closed.

Posting Details Classification Information Rank Professional Lecturer Tenure Status Term/Non Tenure Track Position / Posting Information Academic Year 2019-2020 ResponsibilitiesThe Department of Modern Languages at DePaul University seeks a professor of Chinese Language and Literature from Fudan University to fill a non-renewable ten-month visiting professor position. The appointment will be from September 1, 2019 to June 30, 2020.
Work Expectations:
1. Teaching: the visiting professor will teach a total of 6 courses (2 in the autumn quarter, 2 in the winter quarter, and 2 in the spring quarter). These will be three 3rd-year Chinese language courses and three advanced-level courses within the person’s expertise (e.g. CHN 319: Contemporary Chinese Literature). One of the three advanced courses can be taught in English to benefit a broader audience.
2. Lectures and participation in program events: (1) the visiting professor will give at least one lecture during the academic year on content within his/her expertise to interested audiences on campus; and (2) the visiting professor will attend events organized by the Chinese Studies program and assist in organizing events as needed.
3. Fudan-DePaul Liaison: the visiting professor will provide assistance to strengthen and expand the department-, college- and university-level collaborative relationship between Fudan University and DePaul University.
Candidates must have: 1) demonstrated excellence in teaching Chinese as a foreign language, 2) a good command of English, and 3) active research agenda, and 4) a Ph.D. in Chinese Language and/or Literature.
