The postdoctoral researcher will work on a Haiti malaria elimination project recently funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. The 6-year project will be implemented by a consortium of institutions (the Haiti Malaria Elimination Consortium- HaMEC) that includes Tulane University, the CDC, the Carter Center, the Pan American Health Organization, the Clinton Health Access Initiative, the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, and the Ministries of Health from Haiti and the Dominican Republic. The postdoc will primarily focus on the design and implementation of priority operations research projects aimed at maximizing the effectiveness of the malaria elimination strategies. The postdoc will also work with the HaMEC partners in the design, implementation and evaluation of malaria elimination strategies in Haiti.


1. PhD in epidemiology or related field
2. 1 year demonstrated experience designing and implementing research projects, including:
a. Protocol development
b. Submitting protocols for ethical approval
c. Questionnaire development
d. Field work/primary data collection
e. Developing electronic data capture systems
f. Data management
g. Advanced data analysis, and
h. Preparing research papers for publication in peer-reviewed journals.
