Position Title: Simulation Lab Coordinator

Department: Health Occupations Academic Area

Reports To: Director of Nursing

Anticipated Starting Date: 7/22/2019

Starting Salary: $47,768.13 This position works two academic semesters with 10 weeks off in the summer.

JOB SUMMARY

This position coordinates and provides simulation based learning and is responsible for managing the use of the
simulation lab which includes updating and maintaining policies, procedures and equipment.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATES and LICENSES

Required:

  • Bachelor's of Science in Nursing
  • Computer skills, including knowledge of Internet, email, calendaring software

Preferred:

  • Master’s of Science in Nursing (MSN)
  • Experience using computers with medium fidelity simulation equipment
  • Experience with clinical simulation
  • Successful teaching experience in a school/college of nursing and knowledge of adult learning theory
  • Teaching experience with clients, nurses, other health care professionals, and/or students
  • Three years' clinical experience
  • Working knowledge of higher education information systems (e.g. Banner)

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervises others in accordance with NMC's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding, recognizing employees; addressing performance problems or gaps.

WORK HOURS:

8:00 AM - 4:30 PM Monday - Friday during the semesters with evenings and weekends as needed depending on the simulation schedule. Off from the end of May through the beginning of August.
