Job Title:L.I.F.E. Program Coordinator
Reports To:Coordinator of Community Education Programs
Status: Non-exempt

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

1.Recruit volunteer instructors for L.I.F.E. Program. Contact teachers with schedules, class dates, times, forms, attendance sheet/evaluation, etc.
2.Research and organize day trips. This includes location research, purchase of tickets/reservations, meal coordination, bus scheduling and assignment of group leader. If day trip departs outside of regular business hours, schedule group leader.
3.Generate knowledge about the program though occasional visits to senior groups and supplying information at events.
4.Lead L.I.F.E. Steering Committee meetings as needed to discuss program issues, gather new ideas, etc. for each brochure.
5.Answer phones; transfer calls and/or take accurate messages. Process registrations daily from online, walk-ins, and telephone.
6.Maintain confidentiality of all information including Credit Cards/emails/phones of both student and instructors. Process payment requests for program expenses. Also includes processing cash for finance and troubleshooting problems that may arise through cashnet, and or problems with checks/credit cards.
7.Process purchase orders for day trips, buses, tickets etc.
8.Maintain class and building calendars. Prepare monthly calendar to employees.
9.Prepare materials as needed for instructors.
10.Type, proofread and correct all materials for each brochure.
11.Prepare and produce routine and financial reports, letters, memos, enrollment statistics, brochures, flyers, etc.
12.Utilize office technology and software (MS Office, Excel, email, computer/TV equipment for instructors – Powerpoint, internet, youtube) to maximize productivity and accuracy.
13.Act as supervisor for any work study students.
14.Assist with Community ED. And programs as needed.
15.Courteously and professionally greet and assist all persons who come to Desmond For Adult Enrichment and L.I.F.E. programs.
16.Prepare end of year profit report for L.I.F.E. classes and day trips for Department’s annual report.
17.Shop frequently for refreshments, help in preparing refreshments when necessary and clean up refreshments late in day.
18.All social media and email blasts.

19. Other duties as assigned.


Requirements

1.HS/Equiv. Diploma required, Bachelors preferred.
2.Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Word/Excel, etc.).
3.Excellent interpersonal/customer service skills for adult population.
4.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
5.Excellent computer and technology skills

It's less than a mile from the intersection of the New York State Thruway and Interstate 84, and just a few blocks from entrance to the Newburgh side of the Beacon-Newburgh Bridge. The Mount is also easily accessible by plane, with Stewart Airport just minutes from campus. The Mid-Hudson Valley offers a scope of unparalleled natural beauty in a landscape of mountains, river and forest. Hiking, biking, walking, swimming, mountain climbing, skiing, snowboarding, and our park activities offer so many ways to explore the natural environment.

Enrollment/Student Body Profile. Our student body is made up of 2,700+ students representing over 16 states and several countries. 1,800 are traditional undergraduate students.

Academic Programs. The Mount offers 50 undergraduate programs leading to a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree. Our collaboration programs offer you a chance to earn a bachelor's degree, plus an advanced degree with schools like Fordham University, Pace University, and New York Medical College. The college also offers master's degrees in education, business, and nursing.

Faculty. Students learn from our faculty, the majority of whom hold a Ph.D. or the highest terminal degree in their field. Our Student/Faculty Ratio is 17 students:1 faculty member.
