Academic Year 2019-2020 Responsibilities
The Counseling Program at DePaul University seeks to fill two full-time, non-tenure track faculty positions in Counseling.
Responsibilities include teaching introductory and advanced master's courses and advising students in relation to the field of counseling. In addition, the position requires providing support for departmental and programmatic initiatives that seek to create a culture of student engagement, critical inquiry, and the development of counselors as practitioners, scholars, and leaders.
Minimum qualifications include an earned doctorate in Counselor Education, preferably from a CACREP program, or qualification to be considered CACREP core faculty. The desirable candidate will have professional and academic experience with diverse populations.
Required Qualifications
Requirements include teaching master's level core counseling courses, i.e., Introduction to Counseling, Counseling Theories, Legal & Ethical Issues in the Counseling Profession, Multiculturalism, Testing and Appraisal, Psychopathology, and/or other courses in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling, School Counseling, or College Counseling and Student Affairs specialty areas depending on the applicant's expertise.
Preferred Qualifications
The ideal candidate should have knowledge of CACREP standards and a strong foundation in Clinical Mental Health, School Counseling, or College Counseling and Student Affairs. In addition, the ideal candidate should possess a pedagogical stance that demonstrates a commitment to DePaul University, College of Education's core values such as addressing issues of diversity and difference, equity, power and privilege, and the increasingly globalized context of education.

Location

Located in Chicago, Illinois, DePaul has two primary campuses and four suburban locations. It is separated by a 20-minute trip on Chicago’s “el” train from the Lincoln Park Campus, close to Lake Michigan and Wrigley Field.
