Position Description:
Under the direct supervision of the Executive Officer, provide administrative, technical and analytical support for the Assistant Vice Chancellor of Facilities Management and AVC Office including but not limited to the Financial Director, Budget Analyst and Emergency Preparedness Manager. Initiate and prioritize work to meet deadlines. Perform analytical and technical tasks to complete special and on-going projects following departmental guidelines and University policies and procedures. Assist in gathering data and coordinating responses to requests for information related to collective bargaining and compensation issues. Respond to inquiries and exercise independent judgment relative to the resolution of complex customer issues. Inform the AVC or Executive Officer of urgent or evolving issues requiring immediate or timely response. Compose correspondence for the signature of the AVC, and other high level executives, writing effectively within the context of a fast-paced, complex organization. Design executive level reports and presentations. Manage the AVC and professional staff complex calendar of meetings and appointments, coordinating all meeting related logistics. Serve as a liaison between General Services and campus departments, the public, and various campus organizations, facilitating the diplomatic resolution of conflicts. Perform administrative tasks that require excellent communication skills, initiative, discretion, and the ability to interact with all levels of the University community.
