Requirements

The Executive Assistant provides administrative support for the development department's Executive Director and major gift officers by performing a variety of complex and confidential administrative duties. S/he serves as a backup for the donor relations team's daily reporting. The Executive Assistant interacts on a daily basis with Georgetown law alumni, staff, and faculty, and requires extensive working knowledge of the department's practices and procedures. Reporting directly to the Executive Director of Development, the Executive Assistant has additional duties that include but are not limited to:
  • Provides primary administrative support for Major Gift Officers and the Executive Director.
  • Solicits and follows up with appointments, pulls lists, and drafts correspondence.
  • Coordinates Salon Events with Major Gift Officers and Executive Director.
  • Serves as a backup for Donor Relations for Daily Gift Reports, acknowledgements and gift processing.
  • Manages office supervision, office coverage (answering phones anddoors), and office management (handling room reservation and vendors).

Qualifications
  • College degree or equivalent work experience
  • At least five years administrative experience, in a customer-service oriented environment; Preference will be given to candidates with executive level support experience and experience in higher education
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work delicately with internal and external constituents
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint; Preference will be given to candidates with experience with Millennium, Raisers Edge, Salesforce or other contact management databases
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations and a thorough working knowledge of operating a PC
  • Experience in special events and event management a plus
