Group Lead - Haiti Program (Temporary)

Requirements

The Group Lead works with Georgetown staff and site visit partners to facilitate the U.S. exchange for 16 Haitian participants (14 youth and two adult mentors). This includes meeting the students at the point of U.S. arrival and accompanying them to Washington, DC where they begin their program. The Coordinator ensures that Washington, DC activities are carried out as planned and troubleshoots as needed. The Coordinator travels with the group on their study tour to Portland, Maine and Boston, MA to work with the site visit partner (CIEE) by supporting activities.

Lead Youth Ambassadors Group duties:
  • Manage the group and group dynamic of the Haitian participants while in the U.S.
  • Communicate daily with all stakeholders to ensure the program is running efficiently and to diagnosis any challenges ore issues
  • Troubleshoot challenges that arise with participants or programming on an ad-hoc basis
  • Provide interpretation as necessary.

Qualifications
  • Master's degree and/or commensurate experience
  • Extensive knowledge of Haiti and understanding of cultural difference is crucial to the success and implementation of the program
  • Fluency in English, French, and Haitian Creole are also required
