$36.70 per hour (This is a part-time, hourly, non-benefit eligible position working 19 hours or less per week.)

Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from an ABA accredited law school with minimum of two years of Texas-based practice experience required. Must have successfully passed the Texas Bar Exam and be in good standing with the State Bar of Texas. A combination of experience in consumer, criminal, landlord, immigration, wills, powers of attorney, business formation, and family law is preferred.

Nature & Purpose of Position

Provides legal advice and counsel to currently enrolled university students, which includes but is not limited to advising students on issues regarding landlord/tenant law, criminal law, family law, immigration law, contract law, wills, powers of attorney, business formation, and employment law. There is no court representation.

Primary Responsibilities

Advises students on their legal rights and responsibilities in a variety of legal areas where students have questions. Assists students in preparing legal documents and for hearings if necessary. Drafts legal documents for students as needed. Performs other related duties as assigned by the Director.

This is a part-time, hourly, non-benefit eligible position, working 19 hours or less per week.
