Job Details
Instruct courses in Biological Science. This course consists of 3 hours of lecture and 2 hours of lab work per week. Instructors setup their labs with content and materials supplied. They are expected to be accessible to students. Current available courses require face-to-face daytime and/or evening availability at the Dowagiac campus. We do not offer online courses at this time.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Teach courses consisting of 3 hours of lecture and 2 hours of lab work per week
• Prepare labs and maintain a safe lab environment
• Be accessible to students
• Grade assignments and respond to student inquiries
• Provide timely feedback to students’ questions and concerns
• Use Moodle (our LMS platform) regularly for posting assignments, attendance, and grades.
• Proficient with computer technologies, including Microsoft Office and email.
• Familiar with rules, regulations, administrative practices, guidelines and policies of the College
• Provide the department with student performance data that is required for regular outcomes assessment.
• Work comfortably with a diverse student population that includes dual-enrolled high school students, traditional college students, and nontraditional college students.

• 18 Graduate credits or equivalent in Biology, Biological Science, or related coursework.
• Excellent organization and communication skills
• Masters degree or higher in subject
• Community College teaching experience

A. Stooping. Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist.

2. The physical requirements of this position.
Light work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
3. The visual acuity requirements including color, depth perception, and field vision.
The employee is required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned or to make general observations of facilities or structures.
4. The conditions the employee will be subject to in this position.
