Description:The Office of Educational Technology at Georgia Gwinnett College is seeking a Systems Administrator III to work in the Department of Information Technology Services. This position will assist in the implementation, support server operating systems, and applications for the College. The position will report to the Director of Networking and Infrastructure within the Office of Educational Technology.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

    Collaborates with team leads and department directors to ensure server security and connectivityDiagnoses and resolves operating system and application problemsEnsures security, reliability, and integrity of operating systems and applicationsDeploys operating systems and applicationsInstalls and configures server hardware and softwareManages Windows-based enterprise computing systemsManages Linux-based enterprise computing systemsMaintains user accounts, printers, file systems, and other resourcesResponsible for the administration of clusters running virtualization softwareDevelops scripts and other automation to increase departmental efficiency Ensures that all server systems are monitoredResponsible for proactive maintenance via patches and updates to ensure optimum system performance, reliability, and securityResponsible for Active Directory management and Group Policy Objects managementDocuments installations parameters and as-build documentsProvides guidance to junior staff Writes end-user documentationProvides weekend on-call service as either Primary or Secondary support in a scheduled team rotationResponsible for being on-call or available 24 hour/7 days a week via campus provided phonePerforms other related duties as assigned
Minimum and Preferred Qualifications:MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field 8+ years managing server virtualization technologies like VMWare Server/ESX or Microsoft HyperV/Virtual Server 8+ years managing Backup technologies and strategies8+ years managing more than 50 Windows Server infrastructures3+ years managing project related deployments/rollouts3+ years Project ManagementWorking knowledge of Group Policy design and configurationWorking knowledge of Microsoft server administration and configurationWorking knowledge of Active Directory/LDAP user and group administrationDemonstrated ability to troubleshoot network issues including back bone infrastructure issues
PREFERREED QUALIFICATIONS

    Knowledge of Backup Solutions: CommVault and Veeam AvailabilityProven record of completing projects with Active Directory, Server Migrations (P2V & V2V), provision virtual serversProject planning, change management and documentation skillsWorking knowledge of Server Monitoring Service (PRTG)Working knowledge with Enterprise Camera Security Monitoring (OnSSI Ocularis)Working knowledge with Blackboard servicesProven problem solving skills in a multiple-vendor environmentDemonstrated ability to work independently and with minimal day-to-day supervision
