Title:Technical Assistant Job Category:Hourly and Temporary Department:Technology Learning Center - HTLC Position Status:Hourly/Temporary Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide customer service and basic computer hardware and software support services to lab users of the Technology Learning Center (TLC). Support services include but are not limited to:

• Troubleshooting Microsoft Office and internet browser issues/questions to the best of your ability

• Helping students navigating college web services (aacc.edu, MyAACC, and Canvas)

• Lab monitoring and tracking of usage numbers • Submitting work orders for hardware/software issues to Help Desk

• Referral duties to other college services

*Please note that this job is not with the Information Services department (also referred to as IT). There will be no hands-on technical experience taking computers apart or fixing them.*

For the Fall 2019 semester: weekday afternoon (noon-4pm) and/or weekends.

For immediate hiring: weekday evenings (4-8pm) and weekends.

Required Qualifications:

Must have basic knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; people skills, be comfortable performing conflict resolution, and student outreach.
