Duties

The Director of Fiscal Operations is responsible for managing and directing the financial and administrative operations of the Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Research Division, including but not limited to oversight of sponsored programs, financial management, preparation and monitoring of total manual operating budget, accounting, purchasing, payroll, human resources, space and general administration. The Director will develop and maintain financial management trend analysis and forecasting reports to support administrative offices and academic programs. The Director will be responsible for the development and monitoring of Pathology’s annual budgeting operations to ensure integrity and compliance of financial and personnel transactions. The Director will also be directly involved in both short and long-term strategic financial planning and policy development for the department.

Qualifications

BA/BS degree, preferably in Accounting, Business, Finance or equivalent; Master’s degree preferred; 7 to 10 years experience in sponsored program, administration; preferably in a Medical School academic or Medical Center environment. Thorough knowledge of established accounting systems, standards and practices. Thorough knowledge of school/department policies and procedures, academic issues and programs. Excellent managerial and interpersonal skills.
