This position is responsible for developing and managing the integrated alumni communication strategy for the Office of Alumni Relations.
- Write advertising, publication and web copy.
- Proofread and edit all materials, to include: marketing publications, brochures, mailings, web sites and emails for content, clarity, accuracy and conformity to style guidelines.
- Ensure that content is consistent across all media.
- Coordinate with creative services and marketing managers to develop targeted content.
- Develop tracking system for content updates.
- Manage content of canned responses in CRM to ensure consistency with other messaging.
- Perform periodic reviews of web properties to ensure content accuracy, timeliness and relevance.
- Ensure content complies with regulatory requirements by state.
- Attend weekly meetings with Creative Services team and Marketing Department.
- Manage freelance copywriters as necessary.
- Time allocation estimate :
Event and Program Support – 40%
Email Communication – 25%
Social Media – 15%
Webmaster and Digital Design – 10%
Administrative and Other Duties As Assigned – 10%
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communication, business, or related field
Work Experience:
- Minimum 2 year of related experience, preferably in a higher education or corporate setting, and preferably in marketing/sales
- Demonstrated experience developing and implementing strategic marketing campaigns and measuring the results of such campaigns
- Demonstrated experience with assessment and data-driven strategy development across stakeholder groups.
- Experience developing and leading effective social media campaigns and web presence optimization
Job Skills:
- Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills
- Highly organized with an eye for detail
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task
- Project management experience desirable
- Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite/and or similar tools for digital image creation and copy-editing
- Understanding of and experience with customer relationship management (CRM) systems and a mass email database
- Demonstrable expertise in:
- Microsoft Office applications
- English usage, spelling, grammar, and punctuation
- An articulate, friendly, “whatever-it-takes”, down-to-earth attitude, along with a strong work ethic
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
