Job Title Registration Assistant Department Registrar's Office Position Summary

Gettysburg College is seeking a full-time Registration Assistant to work in the Office of the Registrar. This position maintains student degree progress reports and other administrative and technical related services for the office. Specific responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: maintaining Academic Requirement Reports (Degree Audit) in PeopleSoft; including curricular requirements, major, and minor requirements; communicating with students and advisors regarding deficiencies; and entering major and minor course directives as identified by academic departments.


A high school education or equivalent is required; Associate Degree preferred. At least three to five years of experience as an administrative assistant in an office setting providing administrative, technical, and research support is highly desired. Experience in a higher education setting preferred. Strong problem solving skills and an interest in data analysis are also highly preferred. The following demonstrated abilities are required to successfully perform the duties of the position: provide excellent customer service; handle confidential information in the appropriate manner; correctly enter and validate data into various computer applications; work with detailed information on a consistent basis; communicate verbally and in writing, work independently, handle a variety of tasks simultaneously, meet deadlines and under pressure at times, think and react appropriately to a variety of circumstances; work harmoniously with a variety of individuals; embrace diversity initiatives; learn new computer software applications with ease; work with high volumes of electronic mail in an appropriate and timely manner and work overtime on an as needed, scheduled basis.
