Coordinator – Residence Life & Programming

Founded in 1794, Tusculum is the first university in Tennessee, the twenty-eighth oldest in the nation and the oldest coeducational institution affiliated with the Presbyterian Church (USA). Up for the challenge? Living on campus throughout the academic year, this position helps fulfill our mission by developing, facilitating, coordinating, and executing programs which interactively engage students within the residence halls and the greater campus community. Through direct involvement and fulfillment, creates robust and diverse programs which dovetail and balance on-campus living with our broader mission objectives and values. Supervises all residence life student staff and residence life programming. Oversees cultural initiatives such as our own Pioneer WOW; a program designed to build lifelong connections and relationships for new students. Pioneer WOW ⋆ TUSCULUM UNIVERSITY. A sampling of additional actions includes advising Student Government Association, serving as the point of contact for registering and maintaining student clubs and organizations as well as managing iconic and newly imagined engagement/retention activities. This position makes on-campus living fun and engaging; both within our borders and broader community.

Master’s degree preferred with earned educational credentials in one or more of the following disciplines preferred, student life, college student personnel, higher educational administration, counseling or related field. Experience with residence hall management and student supervision necessary. Strong leadership, organizational, communication, problem-solving and conflict resolution experience a must. Experience working with underrepresented and/or minority student populations helpful.

This position is expected to live on-campus as a supportive resource to students and administration. The chosen candidate will receive a one-bedroom, partially furnished apartment on-campus as part of the compensation package.
