Tusculum University is currently accepting applications for a full-time Student Support Services Administrative Assistant for the college’s ARCHES TRIO Program housed at the Knoxville, TN site. This is a full-time, 12-month position. This position will provide administrative and clerical support for the ARCHES program for Adult and Online Studies (AOS) students at the Knoxville, Morristown, and Greeneville campuses. ARCHES works primarily with first-generation, low-income adult learners.

This position will maintain applicant and participant records and required documentation for the grant. Primary duties include budget reconciliation, producing requisitions, and tracking grant spending. The administrative assistant will facilitate communication with students through various mediums and manage social media sites. Event and trip planning will also be a function of this position. This person will serve as a link between AOS students and the Office of Student Affairs. The ideal applicant should have exemplary organizational skills and strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with students and colleagues from different backgrounds. The applicant should have good command of Microsoft Word and Excel. The administrative assistant will report directly to the Associate Director for ARCHES. Due to evening and weekend class schedules, some evening and/or weekend work is required

Applicants must have high school diploma, associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred. Preference will be given to candidates who have experience working with diverse populations-particularly non-traditional/adult learner students. Previous experience with TRIO Programs or experience in education and/or social service fields is desirable.
